Ashley Del Valle is a transgender woman from New York who was arrested in Georgia for indecent exposure after she allegedly showed her breasts, but then was housed in an all-male jail.I just.
You arrest her because her top is too sheer and shows her nipples, something that is only a crime for women.
And then you jail her as a man.
Fucking fuck.

Judge Roach has placed a “morality clause” in Compton’s divorce papers, which forbids Compton from having anyone she is not related to “by blood or marriage” in her home past 9:00 p.m. if the children are present. Same sex marriage is illegal in Texas, so by law, Compton cannot live with Price if she wishes to retain custody of her children.
This is ridiculous. What happened to small government? So she can’t have a party on her birthday or NEW YEARS EVE? WTFFFF What bullshit.
The Virginia GOP’s nominee for lieutenant governor said last fall that Planned Parenthood, the Democratic Party, and its black civil rights allies are guilty of “genocide.” In a video posted to his YouTube account last September, the Christian minister and attorney E.W. Jackson, who won the GOP nomination over the weekend, sounded off on these organizations and declared Planned Parenthood “far more lethal to black lives than the KKK ever was.”
Yeah, getting free birth control when I was poor is definitely WAY more dangerous than getting murdered by violent white supremacists.
When white liberal feminists label Beyoncé as anti-feminist, they are simply perpetuating the same racist partiarchy they’re supposed to be combating.
Beyoncé is at the center of her own media empire, no small feat for a woman of color in a racist, patriarchal society. Equally important, she embodies empowered sexuality. When she dances, the passion and commitment exudes in her every step. Her body is her own; she owns it and uses it as she sees fit. When she wears a unitard or “skimpy” outfit, something many dancers wear, mind you, she is showing off her impeccable body, her temple, her source of strength, and all that it can do. She is forcing those of us who are clinging to our puritanical notions of propriety to sit down, shut up, and watch raw, unbridled talent and skill. And yes, she is a feminist while doing it.
When white women get to decide who is “feminist enough,” particularly around women of color, they are perpetuating racism. They are policing the boundaries of who is acceptable and who isn’t. This is nothing more than a tool of racist patriarchy wrapped in feminist rhetoric. Yes, racist. It is decidedly racist the way white mainstream feminist organizations police women of color’s feminist credentials, the way white liberal feminists reduce Beyoncé to a gyrating slut with a potty mouth.
If white feminists want to be seen as inclusive, as truly revolutionary, as working to end alloppressive power systems, they must stop perpetuating those oppressions themselves. Exclusionary boundaries of who is an acceptable feminist and who isn’t does nothing for feminism except perpetuate racism, heterosexism, cissexism, classism, and other forms of bigotry and oppression. The incessant questioning of Beyoncé’s character and choices is simply a reflection of the latent bigotry that exists in feminist spaces.
Until white feminists stop policing women of color’s feminist credentials, they are doomed to repeat the same racist patriarchy we are supposed to be combating.
love this! recommend reading the whole thing at the source.
WE ALL ENJOY EATING OUT. Unfortunately, the workers who cook, prepare, and serve our food suffer from poverty wages, a lack of basic benefits like paid sick days, and often have little or no ch…

So you’ve just graduated from college and you want to change the world. Good for you. The non-profit sector seems like a natural place for a justice-minded person such as yourself, and nonprofits are almost always hiring because the turnover rate is so high. But you may find the social justice industry to be… a little unjust. Here are a few tips and tricks for how to avoid being exploited by a nonprofit.
- Don’t work at one. Seriously. Working at a non-profit generally involves at least some level of exploitation. (When was the last time you saw a non-profit with a union?) If this doesn’t deter you, figure out what you’re willing to give up: Is it sleep? Weekends? Seeing your friends? Most non-profit workers do not work 9-5. Working nights and weekends is common. Paid overtime is not. Non-profits tend to make you feel like if you are not willing to work 24/7 then you are not “down for the cause.” That’s bullshit. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you’re not “down enough” because you are not willing to sacrifice your well-being for “the movement.” People who don’t take care of themselves burn out and often become jaded and bitter. You can’t sustain “the movement” if you don’t sustain yourself.
As someone who has interned, worked, and volunteered for nonprofits for most of her adult life…this is so real.
Why Millennials arent buying cars or houses, and what that means for the economy
BECAUSE WE HAVE NO MONEY!
How about about instead of calling us cheap, you out-of-touch “old” people do this:
- Hire us and PAY LIVING WAGES. Hard to afford a house or a new car if your entry-level job is now an unpaid internship, eh?
- Stop making college cost 3x more than it did a generation ago. If we are spending $500/mo to pay back student loans WE DONT HAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON CARS WITH GAS COSTING ~$4 A GALLON.
Are were cheap if we’re just damn poor? JESUS. This shit is just lazy!
They’re baaaaack!
One Million Moms, the anti-gay group comprised of far fewer than a million people, has found a new target for its attacks: Walt Disney World’s unofficial tradition of “Gay Days.” The group is calling on people to email Disney’s CEO in protest.
“The first Saturday in June, homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites will be at the Magic Kingdom with an agenda and purpose different than what would be expected at Disney,” members of the group write on their website. “Homosexuals will be celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Gay Day wearing matching Gay Day merchandise, such as T-shirts. There will also be transvestites dressed in drag showing their support for the event.”
Urging visitors to send an email to Disney’s CEO and other officials, the post continues, “Disney has been irresponsible for far too long. Disney representatives and security need to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and require proper conduct and dress code on a daily basis.”
Oh, just shut up already. You’re not going to win.
