Sorry to bust your bubble, but a new study shows that sex doesn’t burn as many calories as we previously thought.

If licking a stamp burns 10 calories, then I have no idea what kind of sex the New England Journal of Medicine is having… -_-

from the study:
A man in his early-to-mid-30s might expend approximately 21 calories during sexual intercourse. Of course, he would have spent roughly one third that amount of energy just watching television, so the incremental benefit of one bout of sexual activity with respect to energy expended is plausibly on the order of 14 calories”
so ya’ll can try and hold on to your lofty dreams that you burn SO MANY calories while having sex. But it really doesn’t take that much energy for the average session. Especially if you weigh less than the average man in his 30s.
Also, this is average. It doesn’t mean you dont burn more (or less!)
