Today marks the 14th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. Let us take today, and every day, to remember those who have been victims of transphobia, bigotry, and hatred. Let us also reach out today, and every day, to those who live in fear just because of who they are, for being trans*, and how inexplicably difficult society treats them. As a trans* individual myself (FYF Jacquie) I can personally attest to this. I could go on…
(Trigger Warning) Please visit Memorializing - 2012 to honor these trans* individuals who were murdered this year. Names, photos (when available), and descriptions of death are included.
This violence needs to end. I wish I had more to say; the words are escaping me, I am too sad. I will be on the lookout for those more eloquent than me today who discuss this subject.
