Fuck yeah of the day: Seventeen Mag pledges to not photoshop images
Eighth grader Julia Bluhm and other activists at SPARK have been campaigning asking Seventeen to feature one photoshop-free image per issue. Looks like the magazine has finally listened!
After over 84,000 people signed Julia’s petition and she and her fellow SPARK Summit activists hand-delivered the petitions to the executive editor of Seventeen, the magazine has made a commitment to not alter the body size or face shape of the girls and models in the magazine and to feature a diverse range of beauty in its pages.
It’ll be interesting to see how they will implement this “diversity” that has been sought, but this is pretty awesome! I hope it works out well. Regardless, it is great to see young girls kicking ass and making change!
