We’re rather excited to announce a new annual feminist writing competition - FEMINIST FLASH 2011.

The prizes are good ones, we feel: First prize winner receives £100 (or their country’s equivalent), publication with promotion of their blog/website and a 1 year subscription to BUST magazine. 2 x Runners-up receive £25, publication and promotion, and a 1 year subscription to BUST Magazine. 10 x Shortlisted entries receive publication and promotion.
The premise is simple: Write a poem or piece of fiction under 200 words with a feminist theme. Entry is free. Shortlisted entries will be judged by a high-profile profile of judges in the field of feminist writing/activism (Lena Chen from The Ch!cktionary, Julie Z from the FBomb, Guardian/Independent/BitchMagazine writer Kaite Welsh). The competition has a closing date of 30 Nov 2011.
Looks like an awesome opportunity, folks! I might enter ;)
